(AC-CA) CONTAINER DESIGN

The aim of this International Competition was to design a Container Vacation House overlooking the Bondi Beach waterfront in Sydney using used freight container. This competition tries to achieve the following:

+ Encourage and reward design excellence at a small scale which integrates function, structure, details and the spirit of a waterfront home.

+ Research and investigate the various combination possibilities for freight container units to meet the speciﬁed program.

+ Generate the discussion and ideas about the reuse of freight container modules and encourage the employment of sustainable design in all aspects of the proposal.

(AC-CA) DAKAR TEMPORARY CINEMA

The aim of this International Competition was to design a Temporary Cinema within the city of Dakar in Senegal. This competition tries to achieve the following:

+ Encourage and reward design excellence which integrates function, structure, and details.

+ Analyse how the thoughtful development of the cinema within the surrounding neighborhood helps

to create a livable community.

+ Research, respond to and highlight the unique aspects of designing a temporary structure.

+ Build knowledge of design principles related to cultural development within an urban area. _Encourage the employment of sustainable design in all aspects of the proposal.

(ARCH DAILY) BAMIYAN CULTURAL CENTER

The aim of this International Competition was to design a cultural center in Bamiyan, Afghanistan. This competition tries to achieve the following:

+ Create an innovative design.

+ Create a vital center for the cultural community of Bamiyan allowing individuals to commune and share ideas.

+ Integrate the Bamiyan Valley view into the building design and create a positive visual impact on the Cultural Landscape of Bamiyan Valley.

+ Integrate an environmentally conscious design, which in the Bamiyan context should consider locally resourced materials, climate and efficiency.

+ Connect to the historical context of the World Heritage property.

(TRNC) MURATAĞA - ATLILAR SANDALLAR ŞEHITLERİ ANIT MEZARLARI VE MÜZESİ ULUSAL PROJE YARIŞMASI

MURATAĞA MARTYR MONUMENT TOMBS AND MUSEUM NATIONAL PROJECT COMPETITION

The aim of this National Competition was to design a memorial and museum in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. This competition tries to achieve the following:

+ To create a travel route between the five existing project areas.

+ Providing functional and spatial continuity throughout and around the project area.

+ A language integrity and use of contemporary materials in plastic art elements.

+ Graphic design integrity and language unity in all proposed traffic direction signs in the area.

+ Reorganization of vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the area to ensure that the pedestrian movement continues without interruption; making arrangements to respond to the parking lot requirement.

+ Establishing a safe, accessible for everyone walking axis and gathering spaces for pedestrians.

Selection of plants that are suitable for the Mediterranean climate and require little water in green texture.

+ Designing street furniture (lighting elements, seating elements, trash bins) to be used in the whole area in an integrated and language unity.
